Zephyr cannot install because a port is in use. Can I install Zephyr using different ports?

Problem

Zephyr cannot install because a port is in use. What should I do? Can I install Zephyr using different port numbers?

Cause

Port that Zephyr uses is already in use on the server you are installing it too.    

Fix

When conducting an on-premise installation, the Zephyr installer can say that a needed port is in use. At this time, you either investigate what is using the port and shut it down or perform a custom installation of Zephyr and instruct Zephyr to use a different port. Certain ports can be changed and others can not. Any ports that say 'Configurable' next to them can be changed. 

 

The ports include the following:

80 – Server Port (Configurable)

2038 – RTMP Port (Not Configurable)

8005 – Tomcat Shutdown Server Port

8009 – (Not Configurable)

8010 – (Not Configurable)

37638 – Database Port (Configurable)    

 

If you don’t know which program is using a needed port, download the TcpView tool from Microsoft and use it to further investigate:
