SSLHandshakeException error when integrating JIRA with Zephyr

Created on

I am trying to integrate my JIRA with Zephyr and am getting this error:

javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed.

The SSL certificate has not been added to the Java Keystore.

Add the SSL certificate to the java keystore on the machine your are importing from (in this case the Zephyr server).

If the SSL certificate used in an HTTPS setup is purchased from a Certified Authority such as VeriSign, then no additional changes need to be made for a successful integration. If however you created your own SSL certificate, it would need to be imported into the Java keystore.

Note: Some very new root CA certificates may not be in the Java keystore which can prevent certificates from certain CAs from being pre-installed. Typically this can be resolved with updating Java to its newest version if it's not already current.

Zephyr SaaS Customers: If you're a Zephyr SaaS customer, please contact our support team and we will update the Java keystore for your instance.

The process of adding it to the Java Keystore is a Java function and is easily researched on the web.

We recommend using documentation from Oracle such as:

"Importing a Certificate for the CA"

"Unable to find a valid certification path to requested target"
